In Basilicata hunting is a serious matter.

The "Hunting Lodge Poggio del Barone" is located in the Agri Valley, in the heart of Lucania, in the estate Defense Monte Scardaccione, touching the peak of the "Three Borders", which delimits the Scardaccione forest, the forest the City of St. Archangel and the wood of the City of Colobraro, with a total area of about 1184 acres..
The owners of the Reserve, , who believe in the preservation of the environment, have made the company farmhouse hunting, with the input of game,   in full compliance with all applicable European, National, Regional and Provincial, allocating only a portion of the area of activity of hunting, so creating a large area of protection in the rest of the estate.

The mild climate has resulted in the development of different types of trees, bushes, shrubs of the Mediterranean, various types of low-growing plants, which provide a rich diet of wild animals.
